There are three main options available to students when it comes to student loans and they are:

Canada Student Loans

Government student loans are not available to all students and are awarded to students that meet the financial need criteria set out by the individual governments. Another option for students is to apply to a financial institute such as a bank, trust company or a credit union. These institutes all have developed funding programs that are specifically geared to students and usually have two main options available, a loan or a line of credit for qualifying students. Once again like government loans, each financial institute has different criteria for deciding where a loan or line of credit will be issued, so it’s important to visit as many as possible.
